An unknown mistake

Have you ever felt like you were on top of the world, only to come crashing down when you realized that you've made a huge mistake? It's a feeling that no one wants to experience, especially when the mistake has already caused someone to get hurt a lot. In this blog post, I'll share my personal story of realizing a mistake two years too late and the painful regret that came with it.

It was during lockdown when days were really hectic to pass, and I was going about my studies and health when I received a message from an old friend (Didn't recognise that time). I was not excited to catch up with people since I found the conversation strange I hadn't spoken with others in a while. When someone experiences the loss of a loved one, it can be devastating and difficult time. Even after years the process of grieving took a long time for me. The support of friends and family was invaluable. The conversation was exactly accurate as in my experience helping others, it is important to offer a listening ear, it is important to offer a listening ear, providing a space where theu can express their feelings without judgement or interruption. It's also important to offer practical support, such as simply being there for them when they need someone to talk to. Recovery from grieve js a journey that takes time and patience, but with the right support, it is possible to find hope and healing.

At the time, I had been preoccupied with my own life and had taken his conversation for granted. I never realized how much it was meant to me until it was too late.During the conversation, he mentioned that he had suffered with my rude behaviour and was not doing well because of it, I left the conversation and never talked again back. Today when I thought about lockdown one of the moments made me remember about it and that's when it hit me: I had completely forgotten and never thought that how my this move will make me hurt and what can be the consequences. The pain of being unfair hit me hard, and I never knew that I had to take responsibility for my mistake.

But what could I do now? Two years had passed, and he had already moved on with his life. Now as I realise it today I decided to send him a heartfelt message apologizing for my mistake and expressing how much I valued his kind gesture. I am so perplexed with this decision, thinking he mah respond positively and we would be able to reconnect.

This experience taught me a valuable lesson: to never take the people in my life for granted. It's easy to get caught up in our own lives and forget about the important relationship we have. But when we do this, we risk losing them forever.

Regret is a powerful emotion, and it's not something that anyone wants to experience. But sometimes, it's necessary to go through the pain of regret in order to learn and grow. If you've realized a mistake after someone has left your life, don't beat yourself up too much. Instead, take responsibility for your actions and reach out to that person if possible. You never know, they might just be waiting for your

message.
